Week ten! The year is powering by and it is nearly Christmas! Did someone say resources!?

Started Monday strong with my usual morning workout and got in the office early to get started on the email template updates. I created the initial HTML template last week and the guys had already used the template to create the system emails. Upon inspection of what had been provided, it was clear that the content had to be re-written to match our tone as well as define what details from the project were going to be dynamically pulled in.

I’ve got some great resources for everyone this week. I was having a look through Spotify for a new podcast to listen to and came across this pearler;

Side Hustle School is a podcast (backed up with web content) created by Chris Guillebeau that is all about people who don’t necessarily want to run a business full-time, but create their own projects to earn extra income every month. That’s what a side hustle is all about. It’s an income-generating project you start without quitting your job, and usually on limited time, which is of course what I wish I had more of.

I highly recommend anyone looking to create an asset for themselves to check this podcast out and go back to the very first podcast. Huge amount of knowledge shared and I am sure you will get great value out of it. As I was working my way through the episodes I found out about a few services I wasn’t aware of that I am now utilising, I will share all of these with you in an upcoming post.

Busy day working through the Desktop UI design. As previously mentioned, it is proving challenging working backwards designing mobile and now going back through it all and designing for desktop while keeping in mind all the development that has already been done.

As mentioned earlier, I’ve been finding some really cool resources lately, here are 2 new resources to add to your toolbox.

Namechk

Namech_k - Check usernames from your favourite platforms
Namechk allows you to do a search on any username you input and it will tell you if that username is available on a particular platform. Eg, I type in joshgrigg to see what platforms that username is currently being used on. A lot of them are me and if its available on a platform that I like but not on yet, I can go through and sign up.

Threed – 3D Mockups

Threed.io - 3D mockups
Threed allows you to create 3D device mockups to show the potential of an idea. It is currently available for iPhone mockups at present, but they are sure to add more devices in the future.

The vision is to one day deliver a browser based stock photo market, where users can live-render photorealistic photos. 3D rendering stock material isn’t new to the industry. In 2014, Ikea already rendered over 75% of their catalogue images via their company software. Threed want to do this directly in the web browser on any device for everyone to use. There’s no extra software or server setup involved. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Wednesday 22nd November 2017

Worked through more of the desktop design today as well as providing Photoshop help to marketing manager.

I got home and pretty much had dinner then crashed out as I was so tired and it’s only Wednesday!

Wednesday Legs Workout

Thursday 23rd November 2017

Switched it up again today with some Admin UI design, nice change to switch over from working on the mobile and desktop UI.

This week has been hectic, I’ve been so exhausted after a long week already, that I’ve been going straight home, having dinner and going to bed.

Thursday Shoulder Workout

Friday 24th November 2017

Full day working on the Admin UI, got a fair bit done and the guys are happy with the direction on how it should flow.

This whole week has been full on, I haven’t had much time to work on my own stuff.
